General Release - An agreement whereby the first party releases a second party from an obligation otherwise required from the second party. Black's defines it as: "The relinquishment, concession, or giving up of a right, claim, or privilege, by the person in whom it exists or to whom it accrues, to the person against whom it might have been demanded or enforced."
Mutual Release - Same as the General Release except that each party to the release is both a Releasee and Releasor. An agreement whereby each party releases the other from the obligations which would otherwise be required from the other.
