Attended and graduated with honors from Parkview Methodist School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1979. Attended and graduated from Florida Atlantic University in August 1985, majoring in business administration. Practiced as a registered nurse in Indiana and then in Florida until starting law school in 1986.

Training

Graduated from Nova University School of Law, now Nova Southeastern School of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a Juris Doctorate degree in February 1989 and became a member of the Florida Bar immediately thereafter in May 1989. A member in good standing of the Florida Bar continuously since that time. Also, attended Notre Dame School of Law's and University of San Diego School of Law's summer programs in London, England, summer 1987 and summer 1988 respectively.

In September 1995, qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.

Experience

In 1989, began practicing in the area of civil litigation, particularly insurance defense. Thereafter, in 1992 until the present, practice emphasis has been personal injury litigation. From 1995 to February 2003 has been practicing law in England. During this time, developed a medical malpractice department for a firm of solicitors and was on a specialist medical malpractice panel of solicitors.
