Hotel May Be Liable For Shooting In Parking Lot

A hotel may be liable to a guest who was shot in the parking lot, a Court has ruled. The suit was filed by a Plaintiff who was staying at a hotel located in a downtown area. Suit Filed Over Failed Hair Transplant 

The wife of a man who died during a hair transplant operation filed a medical malpractice suit against a cosmetic surgery office. The suit names the cosmetic surgery office and several doctors as Defendants. Plaintiff’s husband went to the cosmetic surgery office for a hair transplant. It was supposed to be a routine procedure. They anesthetize you, they do the hair grafts and you come out later looking great but in Plaintiff’s decedent’s case, he went in an within an hour he was dead. His attorney has stated that the expert his law firm has hired has given an opinion that Plaintiff’s decedent was given an overdose of anesthesia.

Bank Owes No Fiduciary Duty To Prospective Borrower

A bank cannot be held liable for an employee’s wrongful use of confidential information obtained from a prospective borrower, a Court has ruled. The bank was approached by prospective borrowers seeking financing to purchase a company. After the bank denied the request, two of its employees, relying on a financial summary of the company submitted in connection with the loan application, purchased the company themselves. The Court ruled that the bank could not be held vicariously liable for the employees’ conduct.
